Party In The Dark with Mogwai.

“Party In The Dark” is the latest single taken from the forthcoming album “Every Country’s Sun” from John Peel faves, Mogwai.

It is the band’s follow-up to the band’s 2014 “Rock Tapes” is out on 1st September via Rock Action Records, which is also historically significant, being the 20th anniversary of the launch of Xfm, prior to its purchase by the then Capital Radio Group, now Global Radio’s “Radio X”, known back then as “London’s First Alternative”.

The Scottish quarter also released an etheral video for another song “Coolverine”, directed by Hand Held Cine Club.

A year ago, they re-worked material from their music to a BBC 4 documentary for soundtrack album “Atomic”, and are starting a world tour in September.

Apart from being one of Peel’s favourite bands, he famous got into trouble at Glastonbury, after an interviewed was secured with R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe. Peel, who clearly had other ideas, managed to get an interview with Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwate, and gave this priorit, Stipe losing out.

Rumours had it at the time, that Radio One managers were so annoyed with Peel for this, he was almost sacked, but were terrified at the possible backlask from the public had they done so.
